Measurement is taken from the top of one shoulder to the top of the opposite hip bone. The closer your baby is to your center of gravity the more secure you will both feel. Most times smaller is better so that your baby is held snug to your body, especially with older babies. Women who are pregnant can measure loosely across their back from the same points, taking into account their chest size.
